Maine Road

Monkeywood Theatre produced Maine Road, a play written by co-founder Sarah McDonald Hughes. The play, shortlisted for the Alfred Bradley Bursary Award 2009, the most prestigious radio drama prize in the country, was premiered at the 2009 24:7 Theatre Festival in Manchester.

Blue Moon, you saw me standing alone…

Leo loves football. Loves City. Saturdays mean car minding and listening to the match from the backyard. Then everything starts to fall apart…

Maine Road is a Manchester story about football, family, bricks and mortar.

‘Monkeywood are described as an ‘emerging’ theatre company. I would say that they have now arrived and I can only hope that they are here to stay. – 5 stars’ Whatsonstage.com
